Texas Roadhouse Armadillo Punch

Texas Roadhouse Armadillo Punch - recipe card

This refreshing non-alcoholic punch combines tangy lemonade with sweet orange juice and a hint of grenadine for a vibrant, crimson color. Served over ice with a citrus and cherry garnish, it is the perfect thirst-quenching drink for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups prepared lemonade (from concentrate or fresh-squeezed)
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice (from about 3 medium oranges)
  • 1/4 cup grenadine syrup (such as Rose’s)
  • 2 cups ice cubes (plus more for serving)
  • 4 thin orange slices (for garnish)
  • 4 maraschino cherries (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the lemonade according to package directions if using concentrate, or squeeze fresh lemons to make 2 cups. If using fresh, combine 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice with 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1 1/2 cups water, stirring until sugar dissolves, then chill. This ensures the punch is properly sweet and balanced.
  2. Squeeze the oranges to yield 1 cup of fresh juice. Strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any pulp or seeds, as this gives the punch a smooth texture and clean appearance.
  3. Measure the grenadine syrup accurately using a liquid measuring cup. Grenadine is very sweet, so do not add extra—it is meant to subtly color and flavor, not dominate.
  4. In a 2-quart pitcher, combine the prepared lemonade, fresh orange juice, and grenadine syrup. Stir vigorously with a long-handled spoon for about 15 seconds until the colors are fully blended and the grenadine is evenly distributed, creating a uniform coral-pink hue.
  5. Fill four 12-ounce glasses with ice cubes. Fill each glass about three-quarters full with ice to keep the punch cold without diluting it too quickly.
  6. Stir the punch in the pitcher once more just before pouring to ensure the ingredients are still mixed. Pour the punch into each glass, filling to about 1/2 inch from the rim, allowing room for garnish.
  7. Garnish each glass with a thin orange slice placed on the rim or floating on top, and a maraschino cherry speared on a cocktail pick or dropped directly in. The orange slice adds a bright citrus aroma, and the cherry provides a classic sweet finish.
  8. Serve immediately. If holding for a party, keep the punch refrigerated without ice and pour over fresh ice just before serving to avoid dilution.

Notes

Storage: Punch can be made ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Do not add ice until serving to prevent watering down. Freezing: Not recommended as the texture and flavor change. Reheating: Not applicable. For a sweeter version, add an extra tablespoon of grenadine. For a tarter punch, use 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice in the lemonade instead of the full amount.
