Texas Roadhouse Cinnamon Butter

Texas Roadhouse Cinnamon Butter - recipe card

This copycat Texas Roadhouse Cinnamon Butter is a luscious, sweet compound butter with honey and cinnamon. Perfectly creamy and spreadable, it’s the ideal accompaniment for warm dinner rolls or cornbread. Made with just a few simple ingredients, it comes together in minutes and elevates any bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature (68-70°F / 20-21°C)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Allow the butter to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes until it is soft but not melted. Using softened butter ensures the honey and sugar incorporate evenly without creating a greasy or separated texture.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, honey, powdered sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Use a hand mixer fitted with paddle attachments or a sturdy whisk if mixing by hand.
  3. Beat the mixture on medium speed (or vigorously if whisking) for 1-2 minutes until the butter is light, fluffy, and uniformly pale tan. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl with a rubber spatula to ensure everything is fully combined.
  4. Transfer the cinnamon butter to a small serving dish or a small airtight container. For a smooth, spreadable consistency, serve immediately at room temperature, or refrigerate for 30 minutes if a firmer consistency is desired.
  5. If preparing in advance, cover tightly and refrigerate. Before serving, let the butter sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes to soften slightly for easy spreading.

Notes

Store the cinnamon butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator, then let come to room temperature before serving. Re-whisk briefly if separation occurs after thawing. This butter is best served slightly softened (about 65-70°F) on warm dinner rolls, pancakes, waffles, or cornbread.
